Dog Feeding Equipment
There are a few considerations to think about when deciding on the best feeding equipment for your dog and here are some tips to help you:
- Separate bowls for food and water are necessary and it is best to choose ones which are unbreakable and easy to clean
- If you have two or more dogs, they will need their own food and water bowl too
- Ceramic or terracotta bowls are great for summer as they keep the water and food cooler for longer
- Heavy bowls make eating easier too as they don’t skid over the floor. Metal and anti skid bowls are a good choice too. They are easy to clean and won’t slide or rattle on the floor, scaring your dog
- A feeding mat – dogs are not known to have the best dinner manners and are likely to make a mess! We stock a selection of easy to clean mats that come in various designs
- Raised feeders are recommended especially by vets to combat and help prevent digestive problems when drinking and feeding as your dog can eat at head height rather than leaning down. They are also suitable for older dogs that have arthritic joints who may find it hard to reach for a floor level bowl. These are via special order only
- A feeding fork and tin lid cover are useful if you feed your dog with tinned food or pouches
- A variety of automatic feeders are also available for those working irregular hours
- SOMETHING SIMPLE YET OFTEN FORGOTTEN - MAKE SURE YOUR PET HAS FRESH CLEAN WATER EVERY DAY
