Cat Feeding Equipment
There are a few different types of feeding equipment and here are some helpful points worth noting, especially these:
- Separate bowls for food and water are necessary. Choose ones which are unbreakable and easy to clean. We carry a great range of quality cat bowls and the Ferplast range should cater to every cat’s needs
If you have two or more cats, they need their own food and water bowl too. Water should be changed at least once a day
- All cat bowls are practical and can be made from hard plastic, ceramic and stainless steel
- Make sure that you have small and low dishes for your kitten or cat as bowls will be difficult to feed from
- Automatic feeders and waterers are ideal for people with a busy lifestyle, or for short weekends and days away from home. A cover automatically lifts to reveal fresh or dry food at pre-set times. Some even contain ice packs
- A feeding mat – cats are not known to have the best dinner manners and are likely to make a mess! We have a selection of easy to clean mats that come in various designs
- A feeding fork and tin lid cover are useful if you feed your cat with tinned food or pouches and should only be used for serving purposes. The plastic lid will prevent the food drying up and stop smells in the fridge
- We recommend that you close off the cat’s eating area if you have babies and toddlers as cats do not like to be disturbed during eating
- A good tip for people that own cats and dogs together is to feed your cat up off the ground as dogs will love your cat’s food, but it’s not good for dogs to eat on a regular basis, plus it makes for a very hungry kitty
